Channel 4, 8pm, starting Thursday 16th April and running for 5 weeks

Watch out for the AGA cooker in a starring role in Kirstie’s Homemade Home, which airs for the first time this Thursday at 8pm on Channel 4. The AGA features heavily in episode 2, which shows the installation of her new cream four-oven 30-amp AGA with Module, and again in the final episode when Kirstie cooks lunch in the AGA for some friends.

The show follows Kirstie as she transforms a dilapidated country cottage in Devon into the ultimate homemade home, using traditional methods and crafts as well as British-made hand-crafted brands such as AGA and Vi-Spring.

In each episode, Kirstie uses a range of crafts to decorate and accessorise the home, and visits auction houses to furnish it - as well as hunting out reclaimed pieces to restore. Along the way she meets craftspeople - from furniture makers and antique restorers to glass blowers and flower arrangers - who keep the great British traditions alive, and she talks to some well known names in the crafts world.

Kirstie says, 'I want to prove that you can create something unique and wonderful using amazing artisans from around the UK rather than going down the same old mass produced route. I think it is possible to budget sensibly and buy British and I'm keen to show that.'

A life-long AGA lover who owns two of them already, Kirstie was adamant that the cottage had to have an AGA as the heart of the home, which makes it a hat trick for Kirstie!
